a poem

we leave for philly real late tonight....
we arrive in the morning after an overnight flight.

we'll spend some time in NY and DC too...
there is just so much to see and do.

when our fabulous week on the east coast is done...
we'll fly to utah for some fun in the sun.

after being away for 11 long days...
we'll make our way home in a wonderful daze.

i am sooo excited for this trip...
are the words that keep rolling off my lips.

Our New (temporary) Home

We analyzed the poll results and based on that we moved to California!Our plan of action for the next little bit is to live with my parents in Thousand Oaks, CA while Eric works for Sport Court (Thousand Oaks Office). I will just do Temp work while we are here. We plan on being here a month, give or take a week. We are hoping to find a place to live in the Redlands area (about 1 hour east of LA) and after we find a place we will go back to Utah grab the rest of our stuff and move again. Eric will then be a Sales Rep for Sport Court in the San Bernardino area and hopefully I will be able to find a permanent job near there. We are excited and very happy!

We're getting settled here in Thousand Oaks. We got here Sunday Night and Eric started working Monday morning. He is working hard and is very tired at the end of the day. I have yet to find a job but I have several things in the works and hopefully I will be working by this Monday. My days have been filled with painting. My mom and I painted the room that Eric and I will be staying in. We finished it yesterday and we moved most of our stuff into the little bedroom and bathroom.

The first picture is of my parents house where we are staying. Its really cute, I love it. The next is of our bedroom and then the bathroom (yes the shower is yellow and the floor is green).

The BEST THING about being here are the oranges. This isn't even half of what we picked from the tree yesterday. They are so good, I can not eat enough of them. Eric and I squeezed some fresh juice last night too. My words can not give justice to how delicious these oranges are. We love them and they all come home grown from my parents orange tree in their backyard!

The Next Step

I flew to Cali last week to spend the weekend with my sisters (I'll post about that later). Eric drove down and met me on Sunday. So here we are in the beautiful California. We are staying at my parents house in Thousand Oaks. The reason we are here is for Eric to work with Sport Court for the next week or so and see if its what he wants to do. If everything works out with the job it looks like we will be moving to California in the next month or so. Yesterday was his first day and so far it looks good.

There are lots of emotions we feel when thinking about moving. So we hope that we can make the right decision for us and what we feel the path is for our lives. Its very exciting and scary at the same time. I love that Eric is not afraid to try something new and different. I can't wait to finally figure out what we will be doing. I love life!

the decision we've all been waiting for

As most of you know, Eric and I have been going crazy trying to figure out what we are going to do with our lives. We have finally made some decisions and we feel really good about them and we are excited for the adventures that await us.

Eric's last day at his job was about a week ago. Last Friday I put in my notice at my job and my last day working will be August 10th. Eric is doing a triathlon in Schofield, UT (the highest elevation tri in the nation) on Saturday August 11th. Then we will head out on our adventure Sunday morning, August 12th.

We will arrive home sometime between September 3rd-4th.

Then I fly out to California September 6th for a Girls Weekend with the girls in my fam. Now the reason for the one way ticket. Eric is going to drive to California on Sunday September 9th and meet me there. We will then drive back home a week or so later. Eric convinced me to post that I bought a one way ticket to Cali. He wanted to trick everyone into thinking I wasn't coming back.

We are thinking very seriously about moving. We would really like to, but first Eric has to find a job somewhere. So that's our next step after our trip... find Eric a job somewhere, anywhere. We will go wherever that job may be, if it is a good opportunity. We're looking for jobs in Utah, California and Arizona.
