retail therapy

We went to the Urologist last week. We didn't receive the news I was hoping for. I cried. But no worries, there's always hope.

After the appointment I had some time before I needed to be back at work so I decided a little retail therapy would do the trick to cheer me up. So I went shopping at Target. Except it didn't work. I wasn't in the mood to look at anything, let alone try anything on. I looked at some shoes but that was about it. Then as I was walking out I spotted this liberty of london scarf in the clearance section. On sale for $8.

I'm not a scarf person and I am not going to use this as a scarf. The scarf is about 1.5 yards of fabric. So I'm debating about what to make with it. I keep thinking about making a skirt because it's a great way to showcase the fabric. Plus, I just found another great skirt tutorial that I want to try out. Or I could do a purse, which would be darling. I don't think I would use it in a quilt. Although it would make a really cute receiving blanket with some ivory minky on the other side.

The greatest thing about this find is that liberty of london fabric goes for like $24/yard. I think I got a steal of a deal. Nothing brightens a day like finding something you love on sale.

What do you think I should make out of this lovely fabric?

words with pictures

I love this mini quilt and I love these colors together. I also like that's it's more of a neutral... not boy or girl. You can't see the quilting very well on either side. But it is quilted in lines. The red striped side is flannel and the brown dots side is quilting cotton with a solid mustard yellow binding. I'll be listing it in the shop today.

Another one of my receiving blankets. I love this deep teal flannel. The color was hard to capture on my camera. But it is a gorgeous deep teal. I'll also be listing this in the shop today.

I'm participating in a vintage sheet swap. I've been collecting these for a while, so it was hard to part with some. Here is my stack I sent off and hopefully I'll get an even better stack back in a couple weeks.

Here's that fabric I was talking about. It is a deep plum background with pomegranate triangles. I got 2 yards of it for 1.99. I am going to make a skirt out of it. I love the colors. The picture does not do it justice.

Remember how I mentioned a couple weeks ago that we bought a tree. Here it is. Isn't it cute?

Fabric

I love fabric. I can't get enough of it. I bought this batch a couple weeks ago.

Stay tunned to see what I will do with it :)
