I took this video of the boys last night. It's one of my favorites ever.
I really want to get back to blogging. I so wish I would've blogged these past 9 months of the boys lives. It goes by so fast and they change so much. But I just couldn't get my act together. I took lots of pictures but I'm afraid I've forgotten the stories that go along with them. But there's always time to start!

time to strap the baby in the swing
um, so yeah, t boy fell out of the swing last night.
in the past and up to last night, i haven't strapped them in the swing when they are swaddled. cause really when they are swaddled they don't move that much. but t boy is a kicker. he loves to kick his legs all the time. but usually when he's swaddled and sleeping, he doesn't kick as much.
but combine how big he's gotten (when did that happen), kicking legs and not being strapped into the swing and you get a baby on the floor. luckily the swing is very low to the ground.
the crazy thing is t boy didn't really even cry. E went into the room because he heard some fusing and as he went to put the pacifier in t boys mouth, there was no baby in the swing. he brought him into me and told me what happened and as we looked t boy over, he seemed fine.
in other news, n boy rolled over twice yesterday morning.

no birth pictures of nathan makes it even
i've been going through all the birth pictures in preparation for posting about the twins birth.
i discovered that because no one was in the room when nathan was born, i don't have any pictures of him being born. just some pictures after.
i decided this makes it even again. the boys are loved equally because nathan doesn't have any birth pictures and thomas doesn't have any first bath pictures. perfect.
this makes me feel like a better mom for some reason... weird.

thursday thoughts
exciting things are happening around here {no, i'm not pregnant} but still exciting things!
although things are exciting. i am struggling. help me get out of this funk. i am really unmotivated to pursue the whole getting pregnant thing. is that bad? what does that mean? we haven't even gone through half of what most couples go through and i'm already reaching my ending point. what does that say about me? sometimes it's just too hard to put so much work into it. so much to do, so much to think about, so much to decide, so much information. does that mean i'm lazy? i mean, i get the whole "it's worth it" aspect. but you know, sometimes that just doesn't cut it. but then i think, if you take a break it's just that much longer that you go without what you want, a baby.
you know what makes me laugh these days. E threatens me {in a funny way} all the time by saying, "i'm going to post on the blog that you ... "aren't training" or "sew all day" or "didn't cook dinner tonight". for some reason he thinks that he can get me to stop or start doing things by threatening to post about it on the blog? funny... yes.
we are half way through season 2 of 24. it is good. i like it much better than season 1. it is intense.
i went to lunch with some co workers yesterday. one of them asked if i was going to do the whole baby thing. isn't that an interesting way to ask it? and i said, "we've actually been trying for a while but we've run into some problems". then there was complete silence except in my head {what the heck are you thinking, you are so ridiculous}. there's nothing like breaking the ice with strangers than blurting out your fertility problems.
the dishes needed some doing and it was my turn. i had left them there for a day or two. E proceeded to say to me, "if you don't do the dishes we are going to die" it made me laugh. you ever heard of someone dying from unwashed dishes? me either. but... it did make me wash the dishes. interesting.
my new theme song {we decided} is, "all that she wants, is another baby." yes taken out of context, but hey it works. anyone guess what song/artist the lyrics are from?
is it bad that i have my library card number memorized but not my employee ID or driver's license number?

This week has been crazy. I will be so happy when it is over. Just have to get through one more day. In the meantime, this is a sample of what gets me through each day.

craigslist
Since buying our place and moving into it, we've needed to get some things. We have come across some sweet deals on craigslist {seriously, it's awesome}.
We bought a pretty new range, microwave and dishwasher for 180 bucks. We picked up a palm tree for free that is now planted in our front yard. We also got our trailer, refrigerator, washer and dryer from craigslist. And I have a feeling we will be getting some other great things from it in the near future
But tonight as I was searching the free section I came across this. I think I will have to consider driving to Scottsdale and picking them up. I mean come one, they're free.

11 o clock tic toc
i have been packing for days, or so it feels like. but really i have been eating popsicles, sewing, running and staying up late.
i really enjoy the whole taping aspect of packing and moving. i think i like it a little too much because it seems we go through tape fast.
i've recently developed an obsession with big sticks... they are dang good.
having this week to do whatever i feel like (besides having to pack) has reinforced my desire to sew. it has been SO great to get caught up on a bunch of my projects.
5K this weekend... goal is to do it in less than 29 minutes.
i am such a night person. i usually don't allow myself to indulge in this habit when i am working. BUT since i am not working at the moment, i have been staying up way too late and i love it.
event of the evening: eric getting hit in the head with the ceiling fan. ok, it wasn't that funny when it happened, but now i can't stop laughing about it.
we're moving our stuff to AZ on monday. then we'll be off to salt lake for a visit.

redlands classic
We got home from backpacking just in time to see the last leg of the Redlands Bicycle Classic. It was pretty sweet to see all the bikers riding around the roads of our town.

story: This leg of the race was a loop course and they had to do 12 laps. We decided to walk along the road and see them at different points all along the course. At one point we happened to be walking next to a huge bush. At this exact moment the peloton swooshed by. Next thing I know, a full coca cola can is being hurled at me... hits me right in the tricep and explodes. I was in total shock, it was hilarious. The bikers throw stuff off to the side all the time, we just happened to be in the perfect spot for some soda to be thrown at us. It was pretty sweet. I had a red rectangle mark on my arm the rest of the afternoon and Eric couldn't stop laughing at the fact that I got hit with a coke can.

worth it
eric really really really likes these cookies
which means you can't find mother's iced oatmeal cookies in the store
STORY
the cookies came yesterday. we know this because there was a usps note on our door telling us they arrived. but, of course, they required a delivery confirmation signature. which means the cookies are patiently waiting for us to pick them up at the post office.

STORY
the other day i noticed that eric used paypal to buy something. i asked him what it was that he bought. he showed me the invoice... 6 packages of mothers iced oatmeal cookies. i laughed, it was really funny.

when i was talking to eric during our lunch break today, he asked if i would kindly pick up his precious cookies for him because he wouldn't have time to. as i pondered my answer, he stated, "i will give you one cookie if you do". i laughed again and then bargained... one package. we agreed.

A Funny Blog
I like listening to NPR. I do so on the way to and from work. One day they were interviewing this guy who created this blog, "Stuff White People Like". I had to check it out. I did and now I check it regularly. It's pretty funny. But you have to be able to laugh at yourself. If you have a hard time poking fun at yourself than you might not want to read it.
Some of my Favorite Posts are
Bottles of Water
Study Abroad
Moving to Canada
Bicycles
Marathons
Hating Corporations
There are too many to list. I seriously laugh out loud when I read some of these.

mistakes
a lesson must be lived in order to be learned
and the clarity to see this now, that is what i've earned
A line from one of my most favorite songs speaks the truth of what I just experienced. Isn't making mistakes horrible, I hate them and the feeling that they bring. I hate when I make mistakes that could have been avoided if I just didn't make assumptions. I hope that by venting my frustration I will be able to accept that I make mistakes and that I can not change the past. I just hope that I can learn from my mistakes.
I was pretty sure I was going to get Fri Dec. 21st off from work. So I proceeded in buying our plane tickets to fly to Utah. I purchased them, using skymiles, and about an hour later my supervisor told me that due to certain circumstances I would not be able to take Fri Dec. 21st off. I was sick to my stomach and so upset because I had already got the tickets. I called Delta to see if I could cancel them and the operator told me yes, (I was so relieved) there is a 24 hour cancellation policy with no fees. But then, she said oh wait you can't cancel with no fees because you bought them with sky miles. Sick to my stomach again. Long story short, I paid the 150.00 fee to change the date of the flight to Sunday.
I can't figure out exactly why I am still bothered by this and upset with it. It irritates me to the point that I get very angry with myself. Mostly I think because we weren't going to pay anything for the flights and ended up having to pay 150 bucks. That's a pretty expensive assumption. And I was so excited about how long we would get to spend there but then had to cut 2 days out of the trip.
So lesson learned, never make assumptions no matter what!
BUT, I am very happy to be going to Utah for Christmas and so excited for the time that we will get to spend there. We will arrive in Utah December 23rd afternoon and leave January 1st late evening. Can't wait to see everyone thats there!
